• OUR PHILOSOPHY

Grow slow.
Eat honest.
Live rooted.

OOWN is a home for food that remembers where it came from — grown by the hands that have always known the land, pressed the way our grandmothers would recognise, and carried to your kitchen with nothing pretending to be something else.

— A LETTER FROM US

Food is a promise, not a product.

Aarav & Meher

Co-founders, OOWN

We started OOWN because we could not find the food we grew up with. The ragi our grandmother pounded on the stone. The ghee that filled the entire house when it was simmering. The mustard oil so sharp you knew dinner was being cooked three doors away.

Somewhere between the farm and the supermarket shelf, that food lost its story. It was bleached, deodorised, extended, and finally sold back to us as “pure”. We disagreed.

So we went back to the soil — to small farms in Karnataka, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and the

foothills of Uttarakhand — and we built OOWN one relationship at a time. A farmer. A field. A single grain, a single seed, a single batch. Nothing blended. Nothing rushed.

We believe honest food is possible at a fair price. We believe tradition is a form of technology. We believe a brand is only as good as the people it pays — and the land it leaves behind.

This page is our promise, written down, so you can hold us to it.

Four beliefs we never negotiate on.

Every choice we make — from which farm to partner with to how we package a bottle — passes through these four filters. If an idea cannot survive all four, it does not make it into OOWN.

01

Single origin, always.

Each product comes from one farm, one field, one season. No blending, no “house style”. If a batch tastes different this year, we tell you why.

02

Grown the old way.

No synthetic fertilisers, no pesticides, no shortcuts. Our farmers use cow-led composts, companion crops and rain-fed cycles the way this land was farmed for a thousand years.

03

Pressed, not processed.

Wood-pressed oils at under 40°C. Stone-ground flours within 72 hours of milling. Raw honey, never heated. The recipe is simple: do less to the food.

04

Paid fairly, named proudly.

Our farmers earn 2.3× the market rate and are named on every label. No anonymous supply chains. If you want to thank them, you can.

One farmer. One field. One promise.

Ramachandra had been growing ragi on the same three acres for forty-two years when we met him in the middle of a drought. He was being paid ₹22 per kilo. It was not enough to keep farming, and he was planning to sell the land. We bought that season's entire crop at ₹58 per kilo — the real cost of growing ragi the way he grew it. We stone-ground it, packed it, named him on the label, and sent it out in small batches. It sold out in nine days. That is OOWN's origin story. Not a boardroom. A field that was about to disappear.

2020

A single harvest.

3 acres. 1 farmer. 840 kg of finger millet, stone-ground and sold in Bengaluru.

2022

First pressing unit.

Wood cold-press opened in Jaipur. Mustard, sesame and groundnut added to the catalogue.

2024

Farmer collective formed.

112 farmers across 4 states on multi-year, pre-paid contracts.

2026

Today

142 farmers. 6 bioregions. 1,820 acres under regenerative practice.

— EIGHT THINGS WE PROMISE, ALWAYS

Small print we'd rather print very large.

01

Single-farm, single-batch.

Every label carries the farmer's name, the district, and the harvest month.

02

Zero synthetic inputs.

Independently tested for 312 pesticides and heavy metals, every batch, every time.

03

Fair price, paid upfront.

Farmers are paid 40% at sowing and the balance at harvest — no loans, no lenders, no waiting.

04

No blending, ever.

If a crop fails, we tell you the shelf is empty. We don't fill it with someone else's harvest.

05

Cold-pressed, always.

Temperatures logged on every batch. No chemical extraction, deodorising or bleaching.

06

Glass, paper, or nothing.

All primary packaging is plastic-free and returnable. We credit ₹40 for every bottle returned.

07

Freshness dated, not expired.

We print the day it was pressed or milled — so you can decide, not a default 2-year sticker.

08

If we are wrong, we refund.

One phone call. No forms, no photos, no emails. A promise is a promise.
